The 60 foot IMOCA racing yachts are one of the world’s fastest modern racing monohulls.

The boats all measure 60 foot (18.28m) with a draft of 14.75 feet (4.5m). They are the most powerful monohulls

in the world and skippered by a solo sailor for the Vendee Gkobe. The class rules are determined by the

IMOCA Class (International Monohull Open Class Association). For the 2016 edition of the Vendee Globe,

the rules were updated and some of the boats appeared equipped with foils, lifting the boats above the water.
